This was posted at Facebook, I might as well post it here:
I often relate memories to many things in life……I would like to share my story with all of you while I was studying at Australia.
One day my friend invited me to visit her room. And I was interested to one small old chocolate box. At first I taught I was a make-up box, and she opens and It appears to be a music box.She told me that this was her 14th birthday present from their parents and it was 3 years later her mother was diagnosed with cancer and she passed away. She recalls the music box as the gift from her mom and every time she opens and listens to it, she believe her mother was there for her. To me, I was touched to what she told me, the music box music was “Wild Child”-by Enya and it resembles her active social life and her time with her family….and I want to type this story as to thank her for sharing her stories to me.
A music box produces lovely sounds by the use of a set of pins placed on a revolving cylinder so as to pluck the tuned teeth of a steel comb…
The pins……represents your timeline… every time you go through your life, new pins appeared as you grow. The Cylinder is your memories… in a music box, you can repeat the process over and over again by just tuning it back and the cylinder will just turn itself again. And when the cylinder turns, the pins will then plucked and its like memories being repeated in your timeline. And this is where the moment comes.Where the music is powerful and it triggers the memories and the past events you have overcome and went through.
Memories can be sweet or bitter. But we often shed our tears of is the sweet memories. She told me “It’s a great lost and I have experienced it, life is not as simple as you taught when you lost someone you really care. But what really matters is we continue to live and remember the love and care they once gave you. I miss her every day, but I am not alone, she has brought me to this world and have friends like you all and she is always in my heart forever”.
And finally she ended her sentence with this “The future is yours to create and do bring along your memories along, off course, the past is what made you today”. . I am lucky that I have a bunch of lovely friends and my beloved family to support me. So don’t complain on what you are lacking, God has gave you life and everything in it, all you need is to appreciate it before it was too late.
I am very sorry about her great lost. But she was strong and she continues to live, together with the music box she carries. And she is never alone. This note is dedicated for you. And thank you for giving me this opportunity to write this note. She wishes not to be tagged into this note but she agrees and wanted me to post this at Facebook.
